Dear App-fest Community
I would like to start by thanking you for your continued support during these really troubling times. Without it, the event, which we are currently trying to safe guard for future years, would not be able to continue.
As you know it has been with much sadness that the decision has been made to postpone to 2021 but with current guidance from local authorities and the government ban on large gatherings, which has caused nearly all events to cancel or postpone, we feel we have had no other option. At the end of the day it is your health and safety that is paramount and we would not be acting responsibly if we didn’t put your health first.
We are still keeping in touch with local authorities, which is more challenging because of people being forced to self-isolate, being furloughed, or are on sick leave, but we will keep you up to date with the relevant information as and when we receive it.
In the meantime, I am working really hard to bring you the best event ever in 2021. As you know we have confirmed all the current rostered bands will be continuing to support the event next year, over the 23rd & 24th July 2021.
However, I have decided to make this event even bigger & better by extending it to include Sunday 25th July, offering you even greater value for money. This means, three days of fabulous bands and entertainment including FREE CAMPING and local coach service over all 3 days for ONLY £30 for a weekend pass.
If that’s not enough to give you something amazing to look forward to then how about this on top? To enhance the live music I can announce the first two bands that have agreed to join the App-fest party in 2021:
Firstly, the Worlds Number 1 Tribute to Coldplay, ” COLDPLACE”, and If that isn’t enough we have added another great original band TOPLOADER, an amazing band who have had a string of top 20 hits and sold millions of records worldwide. This original band will keep you rocking the night away.
As you can see I am trying to give you an extra special event that is great value for money but this event will only be able to happen with your continued support.
I will also be continuing my conversation with Gloucester Hospital Charity to help raise money for the NHS Hospitals and their staff in Gloucestershire. They need the love and support even more at this time and it’s our way at App-fest to do our little bit for our community.
So, come and join our App-fest party on 23rd, 24th & 25th July 2021 and enjoy 3 days of great music & entertainment including 3 Nights of FREE CAMPING or FREE Coach Service to and from the event on all 3 nights for ONLY £30 and help raise money for our charity partners including NHS Gloucester Hospitals Charity.
Tickets for 2021 will be back on sale soon and will continue at this amazing value of £30 for the weekend pass for a limited time only. We will announce further information/bands etc in due course.
Just to let people know ALL tickets will be updated, renewed and resent but for the current time keep hold of your tickets, all refund requests must be sent by 01.07.2020 . Please be patient with us at this time whilst we deal with the administration of the ongoing Coronavirus situation.
Please note that all tickets purchased for the 2021 event are non-refundable for Covid-19 enforced postponements.
All tickets will be valid in the event of a rescheduled date.
Daniel Pardoe xx
Appfest Postponed until 23-25 July 2021
I am sure all of you are aware of the difficult decisions facing event organisers following the outbreak, and subsequent pandemic, of the COVID-19 coronavirus. For independent events like Appfest, the decisions are even more difficult as we work on exceptionally tight margins and a genuine love for what we do.
We have been waiting for government and local authority guidance before deciding on the best course of action. We have now received an email instructing us that we must cancel or postpone the July 2020 event, due to the COVID-19 crisis. This email can be found at the bottom of this statement. This meant we could not, legally, host this year’s event, nor could we meet the health and safety standards required to protect of our Appfest community
We strongly believe that the health, safety and wellbeing of our visitors, exhibitors, traders and volunteers must always be our top priority, as well as ensuring the future economic sustainability of our event.
Also, we were aware that some people will already be making the decision to self-isolate and already knew they would not be able to come to this year’s event, and some people will be unwell or self-isolating around that time anyway.
Everyone who has booked tickets will have received an email about their tickets, so please check your inbox (and junk folder). The email will go to the person who made the booking.
We want the event to continue for years to come and so many events, venues and leisure industry will struggle to survive during this unprecedented time. With that in mind, please be patient with events that have had to cancel as most are extremely exposed financially, usually not covered by insurance and still having to cover operating costs that cannot be stopped or recovered. Many people will lose most, if not all, of their income and many event and leisure businesses will not survive past 2020.
The good news is that Appfest will be extended to a three day event, from Friday to Sunday, so current ticket holders get even more value from their early bird tickets.
We will soon reopen the box office for the 2021 event and people can continue to buy for 2021, at the great price for £30 for the entire weekend per adult, for a short while.
We would like to thank each and every one of you for your continued support, and we look forward to coming back in 2021, better than ever.
In the meantime, please stay safe and well.
Dan Pardoe and the Appfest Team
Good morning Daniel,
Further to your email below and previous emails received from Paul (Health & Safety consultant) stating that you are not planning to cancel the event as yet – my response is as follows:
Due to the current COVID-19 outbreak and the social distancing required to prevent the spread of the virus I think it is very unlikely that mass gatherings of any kind including your event will be allowed to take place for many months to come.
Even if we were over the worst of it by July, which may not be the case, I doubt the government would allow mass social gatherings so shortly after lock down being lifted.
All other events in the area have been cancelled in the month of July.
