ABOUT US

THE PAST

App-Fest UK originated in 2008, under the original name; Farmers Arms Apperley Festival. The Farmers Arms, located in a small rural village near Tewkesbury, is where Daniel Parode, the owner of the festival, ran the event in the pub’s large gardens and adjacent farmer’s fields for over 10 years. During the first few years of Farmers Arms Apperley Festival, it was suggested by locals from the village to rename the festival App-Fest. This was where our charity, community festival was born.
Daniel and the App-Fest team envisaged the festival as a way to bring together the local communities and raise money for local and national charities through our love of great music. Over the years, the event has raised money and awareness for many charities including Winston’s Wish, Cancer Research, Help For Heroes, Air Ambulance and many more. A great passion for the festival was, and still is, to work closely with local communities, develop relationships and strive to help others who are struggling.
App-Fest ran for 10 years at The Farmers Arms, selling out year on year, and being enjoyed by many thousands of people. After 10 very successful years of growing, a difficult decision had to be made to relocate the festival to a new venue that could support the numbers and continue to benefit the local communities and charity partners.

THE FUTURE

After two years of postponements due to the COVID-19 pandemic, App-Fest returned to the new venue in 2022, for an amazing year ofmusic and fun in the sun! Increasing from a 2-day to a 4-day festival allowed for an even larger line-up than ever imagined! The Hooziers, The Wurzles, Dodgy, Cast, Toploader and Chesney Hawkes, along with a whole load more acts, brought together for the biggest App-Fest to date… and we’ve only increased since!

2023 brought an even bigger festival! Our line-up included Gabrielle, Republica,  The Feeling, Starsailor and The Undertones, along with our App-Fest ambassador, Chesney Hawkes!

During this time, App-Fest grew another festival. Becoming App-Fest UK and splitting our time between App-Fest Gloucestershire, and our new event; App-Fest Somerset. Toploader, Dodgy, The Wurzles and Paul da Vinci gathered at The Blue Bowl Country Inn, West Harptree, for our first festival in the heart of Somerset.

App-Fest is one of the UK’s best value festivals, and is widely regarded as the UK’s most family-friendly festival, with circus skills, a funfair, an outdoor cinema and lots more for people of all ages to get involved with and enjoy!

Join us in Somerset and Gloucestershire in 2024 for our biggest festivals to date, with Scouting for Girls, The Feeling, Chesney Hawkes, Rob Lamberti, Gordon Hendricks and many, many more amazing acts!
